A few people from El Paso, Texas, (Saint Vincent Ferrer Foundation of Texas), were able to travel to Phoenix, AZ for the Requiem Mass of Fr. Kenneth Walker+ at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church on Monday, June 16th, 2014, including a few FSSP Seminarians native to El Paso who were home for the summer break from Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary. The Church was filled to capacity, standing room only. For many of the faithful, it was most likely their first Traditional Latin Mass. It was a Solemn High Mass with Priest, Deacon and Subdeacon roles filled by FSSP priests. Fr. Eric Flood the District Superior offered the Mass and gave the sermon. The bishops of Phoenix were in attendance as well: the Ordinary, Most Rev Thomas Olmstead, the Auxiliary, Most Reverend Eduardo Nevares, and the retired emeritus Bishop O'Brien. There were many diocesan priests who came and religious. Naturally there were also numerous FSSP priests and seminarians, including Fr. Terra (barely released from the hospital and in a wheelchair). A priest from the Institute of Christ the King in Tucson was also there. Two of the priests from the SSPX in Phoenix were also present. It was truly a grace and blessing to see so many members of the Church praying together at a Traditional Requiem Mass for the eternal repose of Fr. Walker.
